The Corporate Lobotomy
The disappearance of low unemployment and an apparent return to the days of abundant labor is a short-term phenomenon. As the baby-boom generation moves inexorably towards retirement, shortages of labor will be worse than anything experienced in the past. This presentation discussed the impact of a graying population and trends that will affect staffing in the near term. Innovative strategies for dealing with the coming labor shortage were addressed.

Action Learning in Action
This program described a partnership between Tennant Company and MDA consulting group to design and deliver a Breakthrough Action Learning program for high potential leaders in a leading manufacturing organization. The focus of this program supported key strategic initiatives for the business in six areas. The program provided an overview of action learning, Tennant program design, building support with senior leaders, considerations in instituting action learning and lessons learned after one year of the program.

About the presenter . . . Rajiv has over 30 years of international and domestic business experience, including consulting and higher education. Before founding Adayana, he was CEO and President of LearningByte International Earlier, Rajiv served as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Operations for National Car Rental, Inc. In academia, Rajiv directed Corporate Venturing Programs at the University of St. Thomas and is now an adjunct lecturer there; he also conducts creative problem solving workshops at the Mayo Clinic. In 1992, the Price-Babson College Fellows Program awarded him the Edwin M. Appel prize for bringing entrepreneurial vitality to academia.
